Leaders, Politics, and Debates…Oh My!

This past weekend Hamilton High School’s JSA chapter traveled to the state house for a convention known as Fall State. JSA brought 13 first time conventioneers to the event. Many students participated in convention events including debates, thought talks, crisis sessions, and even a mock supreme court case. With this participation, many HHS students won awards. Elias Tzoc received a best speaker award, Daniel Sutton received a best new moderator award, and Darshi Ambani received the best veteran moderator award. Along with all of the Blue participation, one student left Fall State with a little more. Delaney Kirby won $1,250 in scholarships to a JSA summer school program of her choice. Want to get in on the fun? JSA meets every Friday after school. There is also a similar convention in the spring, so brush up those debate skills and get ready!
